Electric vehicle (EV) use and availability is increasing throughout Vermont and New Hampshire. EVs produce much less carbon than gas powered cars, at an equivalent fuel price of about $1 per gallon.
You can learn more about and test drive EVs at the Upper Valley Electric Vehicle Demonstration and Forum, Thursday, May 15, at the Montshire Museum of Science, in Norwich, VT.
From 5:30 to 7pm, electric cars on display from 3 dealers and 15 local owners will include: the Tesla Roadster and Model S, Ford C-Max and Focus electric, Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, Prius Plug-in, and Smart EV. Several of these cars, as well as electric bikes from Zoombike and the Solar Electric Cargo Bike will be available for test drives. The Dartmouth Formula Racing team’s EV, which took first place in the Electric Vehicle division race for the second year in a row, will also be on display.
At 7pm, we will move inside to the Porter Community Room for a presentation by Dave Roberts of Drive Electric Vermont –http://www.driveelectricvt.com, followed by a discussion with EV owners and dealers until 8 pm.
There will be displays inside from our sponsors Lamoille Valley Ford, Twin State Ford, Lovering Mitsubishi and Zoombikes who helped make this event possible; public charging stations by Voltrek; and charging EV’s with solar power by Energy Emporium. Ted Dillard of the Boston chapter of the Electric Auto Association will also show his racing electric Yamaha R5 motorcycle from the Mt Washington ALT Energy Summit.
