Renewable Energy Standards (RES) require our utility companies to get a certain amount of the energy they generate or sell from renewable sources like wind and solar. In Vermont, our RES requires the state to source 75% of our energy from renewable sources by 2032 and limits local renewable generation to just 10% of the power Vermont needs.
