What: Efficiency Maine today launched another electric vehicle (EV) educational video — “Ways to Pay for EV Charging” — featuring Maine humorist and car enthusiast Tim Sample. The quasi-state agency has produced a series of educational videos that appear on newly redesigned Efficiency Maine web pages. The short, 2- to 4-minute videos complement a rich array of educational materials about EVs, rebates, and charging infrastructure to help Maine consumers learn more about and become more comfortable with EVs.
Efficiency Maine launched the EV video campaign with an introductory segment titled “Go the Distance in an Electric Vehicle,” which features Sample talking about the “new cars” on the roads in Maine — EVs. Sample lists some of the benefits of EVs placed in the context of the state’s goals to reduce carbon emissions. The video series is displayed on a new “carousel” feature at the top of the Efficiency Maine EV web page, which encourages visitors to click through and view them as new videos are added to the series.
Since launching the series, Efficiency Maine has added instructional videos on home charging installation tips, how to use public EV chargers, and where and how to find EV chargers. Other videos under production will describe considerations on how to maximize a charge and “one-pedal driving,” which enables drivers to come to a full stop without using the brake pedal.
