REUSE!

The Peace & Justice Center and Reuse Pro Alex Eaves to Host Screening of Documentary, Reuse! Because You Can’t Recycle The Planet, on Thursday, September 10th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Merrill’s Roxy Cinemas.

This film isn’t about our waste problem. Nope. It’s about solutions. And they are everywhere.

Burlington, VT— August 24, 2015:

We live in a challenging time. Climate change and mass consumption is threatening our planet’s existence. Excessive extraction of natural resources has created immeasurable waste and pollution. This issue is complicated and imminent. While recognition and awareness is important, direct action is by far the most effective.

Traditional recycling is not enough. The Reuse mission offers a sustainable solution that everyone can be a part of. By diverting materials from landfills, products can be re-purposed and redistributed back into communities.

The Peace & Justice Center will proudly screen REUSE! Because You Can’t Recycle The Planet at Merrill’s Roxy Cinemas on September 10th at 7 p.m. The 60 minute documentary will be followed by a Q&A discussion panel with filmmaker and crew. Tickets are available for $10 now at the Peace & Justice Store (60 Lake Street, Burlington) or at the Roxy (222 College Street, Burlington) the night of the event.

More About the Film:

Reuse! Because You Can’t Recycle The Planet follows Alex Eaves’ cross-country adventure to the 48 contiguous U.S. states. On his journey, he demonstrates the different ways people and small businesses reuse products to benefit “people, planet, and wallet.” From filling gas tanks with French fry oil for fuel, to building climbing walls in an old industrial wasteland, to growing gardens on the backs of pickup trucks, the creative possibilities are endless.

About the Director:

Alex Eaves is a self-proclaimed ‘Reuse Pro’ that lives and breathes the reuse lifestyle. In April of 2013, he launched a successful Kickstarter campaign for his REUSE! Documentary project. That summer, Eaves and his various videographers traveled around the country seeking out people who were reusing in original ways. And to showcase his own work, Eaves set up pop up shops along the way for STAY VOCAL, his certified green reuse apparel brand. STAY VOCAL was awarded the 2013 Green America Top 10 People & Planet Award. His commitment to the reuse movement has proven both inspiring and effective. Illustrated in a “unique edutainment experience,” the
REUSE! film is bound to accomplish similar results.
