What: The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Onyx Renewable Partners will announce the completion of the 2.5-megawatt solar installation at the City of Saratoga Springs’ former landfill. The project will help New York meet Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s Clean Energy Standard requiring 50 percent of the state’s electricity come from renewable energy sources by 2030.
The solar array is comprised of 7,992 solar panels across 14.6 acres on Weibel Avenue, at the site which also serves as the City’s transfer station. The project was constructed by Onyx Renewable Partners, a New York-based solar developer.
