WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VERMONT, January 21, 2020 – – has earned the distinction of being named one of the 2021 Best Places to Work in Vermont. Vermont Business Magazine and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce announced this week the top Best Places to Work in Vermont 2021.
The awards program was created in 2006 and is presented in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management, Vermont State Council, (SHRM) and the Vermont Department of Commerce and Community Development and Best Companies Group.
Norwich Solar Technologies CEO Jim Merriam said, “I am very happy that the entire team of Norwich Solar Technologies was recognized with this award. The work we do, our customers, and everyone at Norwich Solar Technologies truly does make this a great place to work.”
The rankings of the Best Places to Work in Vermont will be unveiled at an awards ceremony to be determined at a later date. Winners will be announced on the Vermont Business Magazine website this month as well as in the February issue of the magazine. VBM will publish a special section in the April issue highlighting each of the winners.

Of the 50 companies being recognized, eight are new to the list in 2021, including NST. This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Vermont, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce, and businesses.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Have at least 15 employees working in Vermont;
- Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;
- Be a publicly or privately held business;
- Have a facility in the state of Vermont; and
- Must be in business a minimum of 1 year.
“All Vermonters know that Vermont is a great place to live, work and play. We know that our employees are happy with their place of employment. The employers have created a work environment where the employees love to work. Even with a destructive pandemic hitting our world, these employees and employers are committed to a productive workplace, be that while in the office or working remotely. This list is a testament to the fantastic companies here in Vermont”, states John Boutin, Publisher, Vermont Business Magazine.
Who is number one?
The final rankings for each category will be announced at a special awards presentation to be determined at a later date. Each Business on the list will be highlighted in the April issue of VBM.
