Geothermal heat pumps (GHP) are key to reaching New York’s climate goal of a 40% cut in greenhouse gases. Many people don’t realize that far more of NY’s greenhouse gases come from heating buildings than from generating electricity. Replacing fossil fuels with renewable heating systems, coupled with conservation, transportation solutions like EVs, and renewable electricity, is crucial to avoid the most catastrophic impacts of climate change.
