Concentration of CO2 in the Atmosphere

March 5th: Energy Independent VT Forum

WHEN:   Thursday, March 5th, 2015 at 6:30 pm
WHERE:  Montshire Museum Community Room, Norwich, VT
WHAT:    Proposed “Carbon Pollution Tax” in Vermont, a FREE public forum

In the face of “gridlock” in Congress, Vermonters are proposing a robust initiative to address greenhouse gas emissions and climate disruption.

The Vermont Sierra Club is part of  “Energy Independent Vermont”, a coalition of environmental organizations, businesses and business associations, academic leaders, low-income advocates and Town Energy Committees.

“Energy Independent Vermont” has proposed the single most important action Vermont could take to cut carbon emissions: putting a price on carbon pollution.

With a “Carbon Pollution Tax” Vermonters will save and polluters in the fossil fuel industry will pay.  But if this measure is to be adopted by the Legislature, Vermont lawmakers will need to know that their constituents understand and support the initiative.

That’s why Energy Independent Vermont is hosting educational forums to broaden public awareness about the plan. We have scheduled a forum on Thursday, March 5, at 6:30 pm (RSVP here), in the Montshire Museum Community Room in Norwich, Vermont.

Come to the forum so you can learn about the necessity and benefits of putting a price on carbon pollution. With your support, we can hold big fossil fuel companies accountable, help protect our planet, and save Vermonters money.
