Happy Summer!
It’s solar season. Now that is better than Season of the Sticks, but I sure love that song. However, it is the season of the ticks and bugs. Guess we have to take the good with the bad. Be sure to read our article about bug relief on p.38. Summer also means massive amounts of time being spent to mow lawns and keep the bugs down at the same time. If you cherish your time, as I do, you will want to catch up on how to get that time back and not have to mow your lawn on p.39.
Summer brings storms that are worsening as the climate continues to worsen. My goodness, the tornados are out of control. And then I read that due to the warm oceans where the temperatures continue to rise, they are predicting an unprecedented number of hurricanes along with higher intensity. Did you note that weather.com has added another level higher to the heat index to accommodate the rising air temps as well?
This all says that it is time to G.E.T. serious about doing more to assure your own safety and be able to meet our changing future. Isn’t it time to quit depending on fossil fuels and get solar, button up your homes and get heat pumps? It certainly is time to support and let our legislative representatives hear that this is what you want and expect from them to support and include climate solutions in their agendas. Encourage your state to follow Vermont’s example and pass laws that hold fossil fuel companies accountable for the results we are already experiencing.
It may go without saying that Green Energy Times (G.E.T.) is more important than ever, as we endeavor to bring solutions to our ever-growing number of readers.
Together, we can create a brighter, more sustainable tomorrow. Let’s continue to do more every day and make a difference, one green step at a time.
Happy summer! We wish you much sunshine, blue skies and a future for us all.
