Green STEAM Scholarship 2022 Call-for-Application

Troy, NY – Eden Renewables, a Troy-based community solar farm developer, is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program with a total value of $16,000. High school seniors graduating from schools in communities that host Eden’s solar developments (see list below) and pursuing a career in fields that benefit the environment are invited to apply. Applications will be accepted until May 20th.

Eden’s Green STEAM Scholarship was established in 2019 as a component of its broader educational program. The Eden Education program encourages and supports students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) disciplines through the environmental lens. So far, Eden has awarded $17,000 to 10 seniors attending Argyle, Duanesburg, Fonda-Fultonville, Hoosic Valley, Ichabod Crane, Maple Hill Junior-Senior, and Troy City High Schools, majoring in a variety of Green STEAM subjects such as Environmental Design, Environmental Science, Marine Biology and Wildlife Conservation.

This year, the total scholarship value has increased by $1,000 following the approval of a third community solar development in the Town of Claverack. This money will increase the amount allocated to Hudson City High School to $3,000.

Awards of $1,000-$3,000 will be made to 10-15 students, depending on the quantity and quality of applications received. At least one student will be selected from each school.
