VECAN recently sent out a significant survey to energy committee leaders across Vermont to help us – and key partners – better understand the challenges, needs and energy priorities for communities.
With many survey results now in (though keep ‘em coming!), there will be a workshop on Wednesday, March 16th from 6:00-8:00pm to provide energy committee leaders with an overview of the survey results, as well as guidance on how energy committees can ready themselves to utilize American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and other available state or federal funding, in order to make strategic investments in cost-saving and carbon-cutting improvements in their communities.
Don’t miss this event! Katie Buckley, Director of the ARPA Coordination and Assistance Program at the Vermont League of Cities and Towns (VLCT), will provide an overview of ARPA opportunities available to Vermont municipalities and guidance and tips for how communities might use these funds for energy-related projects. Hear from a Regional Planning Commission leader on how they are – or might – best support communities and their energy priorities, as well as their tips, tools and suggestions for energy committees to partner with their municipalities. This is an exciting moment to help ensure your community plans for and readies to maximize impending opportunities to make strategic investments that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support a more sustainable and affordable clean energy future for Vermont.
Finally, and excitingly, the webinar will wrap up with the announcment of the energy committee who wins a $1,000 reward for full completion of the survey, which will hopefully serve as an investment in their important local energy work!
Register to attend here. We hope to see you there!
