Help Raise money for SolarFest
…and have a really fun time doing it
Climate Ride is a community of adventurers dedicated to protecting the planet. SolarFest Team Captain and Trustee Dave Conna has been participating in Climate Rides since 2008, when he rode from New York City to Washington, DC, where the group lobbied their Senators and Representatives about climate change issues. In 2016 Dave Conna worked with Climate Ride to get SolarFest listed as a beneficiary alongside dozens of prestigious organizations such as the Union of Concerned Scientists, 350.org, and the Nature Conservancy, to name a few.
Climate Ride is hosting a unique weekend event at Chautauqua Sept. 16-18
The Chautauqua Institution is a 750-acre community on Chautauqua Lake in southwestern New York, and we are looking to participate with an expanded SolarFest cycling team! The weekend has three levels for novice to pro riders: you choose a total distance of 50, 80 or 140 miles. These smaller events, known as Green Fondo events, were specifically developed for folks who wanted to take part in the Climate Ride movement but were not necessarily hard core cyclists. There’s even the option for those who don’t want to get in the saddle at all and just want to enjoy the weekend exploring Chautauqua!

Chautauqua is a community of artists and thinkers dedicated to exploring the best in humanity, and part of that is their effort to address climate change. Participants can overnight, enjoy food and drink, and meet new friends and thought leaders. Please consider taking this weekend to pedal for the planet in this beautiful part of New York and be part of creating a positive impact for the future, and act soon as these rides are very popular and this one is close to being FULL!!
SolarFest is the place for fun, new ideas, and the most interesting conversations.
