Free Online Workshop: Home Efficiency for Savings & Comfort

Saturday Dec. 4th from 10:00 – 11:30 am

Zoom in to learn what you can do to affordably make your home more comfortable & healthier. The basics are no longer basic, as building science includes everything from retrofitting to improve thermal gain & loss, moisture control, indoor air quality, to off-gassing, supply chain carbon footprint, materials recycling and even the gold standard of PHIUS House Alliance.

But the complex can become simple when you know where to begin.

This free online expert panel, moderated by Passive House Certified architect Alan Benoit, AIA, features professionals from Efficiency VT, the HEAT Squad, and weatherization contractors. Additionally, the group includes personal success stories from Window Dressers and the Rupert Meeting House about the quest to cut costs and be more sustainable.

The full schedule is posted, and all workshops are free

Due to the recent uptick in COVID cases this workshop is only being offered online, but it’s hoped that beginning in January the workshops will be held in person at the beautiful 1786 Meeting House in Rupert.

Free to the public, a new and valuable topic will be covered each month: Jan. 15th – Transitioning to an Exciting and Great Paying Green Job, Feb. 5th — Solar Energy + Storage Showcase, and Mar. 5th — Getting Off the Grid.

Pre-register to attend the SolarFest Winter Workshops

While you’re there, check out the expanding library resources including video recordings from past SolarFest events like the workshop “Heating & Cooling with Heat Pumps” from Nov. 13th.

There’s still no better place for fun, new ideas, and the most interesting conversations.
