Senator Kennedy Introduces 25% NY State Geothermal Tax Credit Bill– Senator Tim Kennedy (D-NY 63) has introduced S8364, a bill that would provide a 25% New York State tax credit to pair with the federal 26% tax credit on geothermal heat pump system installations. The 2016 version of the bill was passed by the Assembly and Senate but vetoed by Governor Cuomo prior to his administration setting up a rebate program administered by NYSERDA . NYSERDA, Utilities Launch Heat Pump Marketing Campaign – “We are pleased to announce that the NYS Clean Heat Consumer Awareness and Education marketing campaign is live and in market. Visit CleanHeat.ny.gov to visit the campaign landing environment today. The campaign is a collaborative between NYSERDA and New York’s investor-owned utilities and will help raise awareness of the benefits of upgrading homes with clean heating and cooling systems. Residents will be directed to the new heat pump-focused website. Residents will see campaign messaging on a variety of channels including TV, radio, social media, digital advertising, and email.
