Join NESEA for this Pro Tour of an affordable housing community built for PHIUS certification. This community, designed by hosting company Maclay Architects, was built to meet the needs of a non-profit housing developer wanting durable, healthy, and attractive housing on a limited budget. Attendees on this tour will learn how the project team met these goals without sacrificing energy efficiency. The funding agency prioritizes funding to Net Zero Energy and Passive House Projects.

Project Details

  • Units:  29
  • Square Footage:  27,000
  • Type of Construction:   New – Construction completed summer 2019
  • 180 kW PV array mounted to buildings. Panels will have four orientations, including roof
  • Solar cornice designed to extend solar panel
  • Cladding is corrugate metal siding in Mission Red as a cost effective, modern interpretation of brick buildings
  • High efficiency building envelope design to minimize thermal bridging and control air and moisture

12:30 PM Doors open, registration, networking and coffee
1:00 PM Welcome by NESEA
1:10 PM Overview of the project by the host
2:00 PM Tour of project begins; attendees rotate through content-specific stations
3:45 PM Group Reconvenes back at initial meeting point
4:00 PM Reception with light refreshments
4:15 PM Q&A Panel with members of project team
5:00 PM Event Concludes
