7th Annual Vermont Activism Celebration

Let’s toast Vermont reducing toxic pesticide use at the 7th Annual Vermont Activism Celebration!

Sunday, May 22 from 5pm – 7pm

Event Location: Cold Hollow Cider Mill, 3600 Waterbury Stowe Rd., Waterbury, VT 05677

This year Vermont is updating pesticide regulations for the first time in a decade. More and more studies have come out every year linking pesticides to serious health and environmental problems. Vermont community leaders are speaking up for our kids, for bees and for Lake Champlain. Let’s celebrate these courageous people!

Guest Speakers Will Allen and David Mears

Will Allen is a lifelong farmer, with deep roots in the organic movement. He grew up on a small farm in California and has been farming organically since 1972. Here in Vermont he manages the Cedar Circle Farm.

Will is also the author of The War on Bugs which documents how advertisers, large-scale farmers and government agencies colluded to convince farmers to use chemical pesticides in an effort to pad their wallets and control the American farm enterprise.

David Mears is the director of the Vermont Law School’s Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic. He’s recently returned to that role after serving four years as the Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Conservation.

David’s career has taken him to some amazing places over the years: from teaching as a Fulbright Scholar in China to being appointed as the Senior Assistant Attorney General and Chief of the Ecology Division in the Washington Office of the Attorney General.

At our 7th Annual Celebration meet other supporters, activists and members and learn more about the amazing community activism that is happening across the state. And of course there will be great food and wine!

RSVP online before Friday and bring along your friends and neighbors. Donations of all levels are greatly appreciated.
