Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Public Service Department today announced the appointment of Tom Bodett of East Dummerston, Vermont, to the Governor’s Energy Generation Siting Policy Commission. Bodett, a writer and broadcast personality, is currently serving his seventh year on the Dummerston Selectboard. Bodett also serves as the municipal representative to the Vermont State Enhanced 911 Board, and lives in a net zero home with geothermal heating. Bodett’s appointment to the Commission comes as a result of the resignation of Jim Matteau of Windham county. Matteau recently resigned from the Commission to undertake important FEMA duties in New Jersey in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. At the second informational meeting of the Commission held earlier today, Chairman Jan Eastman expressed appreciation to Matteau for his participation and contribution, and welcomed newly appointed member Bodett.
