Stimulus money helps fund Montpelier biomass plant

Stimulus money is going to help fund a struggling biomass plant in Montpelier. Gov. Peter Shumlin announced the state will give $1.75 million to help pay for the plant that will heat state and privately-owned buildings in the city’s business district.

Montpelier gets $1.75 million for green energy project

A big check — for $1.75 million — was presented to Montpelier from the state’s Clean Energy Development Fund on Wednesday for the city’s district energy project. The money is $1 million from American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds and a $750,000 loan.
