Central VT Regional Energy Network Forum

For Central Vermont area residents — or anyone who can make the trip! — please mark February 16 on your calendar for the next gathering of community energy leaders in Central Vermont. VECAN is once again co-hosting the forum with the Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission. Here’s a snapshot of the evening:
6:00 – Snacks and socializing.
6:30 – Each town — and town energy committee — will be asked to provide an update on their efforts. A great time to identify potential projects or partnerships.
7:15 – A presentation by Brian Shupe of VNRC, who will overview the new Energy Planning and Implementation Guide – a tool designed to help motivated communities harness their town plans to address energy-saving, energy-generating opportunities. Find out how you can help your community plan for and really move towards a clean energy future.
7:45 – Overview of the online Renewable Energy Atlas of Vermont by Scott Sawyer of the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund. This tool offers an incredible resource for energy groups, planners and more.

8:35 – A legislative snapshot — what’s happening on energy and climate under the Golden Dome
