The Annual Meeting of the Vermont Rail Action Network is coming soon! It’s the evening of Wednesday, October 20th in Burlington at Union Station. Please register now!
E-mail is useful, but nothing compares to meeting in person! Especially with great food! Come meet fellow advocates, hear about the progress that has been made on Vermont railroads since last year and strategize about the upcoming legislative session.
We have invited both candidates for governor. Peter Shumlin has confirmed. We will hear from Charles Hunter, Director State Relations-East for Rail America (owner of New England Central Railroad), and David Wulfson, President of Vermont Rail System and from Joe Flynn, state rail director. We will give two awards for rail advocates of the year. This event is co-sponsored by Main Street Landing, of which Union Station is a part. They are strong rail supporters. Food is by Madera’s, which is located there – but we are meeting in the train station itself.
Registration and cash bar begins at 5:00 pm. Program begins at 6.
This will be an important event for anybody who cares about the economic and environmental benefits rail can bring to our Vermont. You’ll have a chance to meet other advocates, learn and enjoy the evening while getting prepared to help set and promote our priorities for rail in Vermont.See you there! Christopher
