Just a reminder: The seventh annual Gift-of-Life Marathon will be held next Tuesday, Dec. 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre in Rutland. Our goal is to collect 1,000 pints of blood in one day, which would break the New England record we set last year, 856 pints.
To further incent our friends, relatives, business associates and community members, today Mayor Louras and I set out a special challenge: meet the goal of 1,000 pints, and we’ll get and sport Mohawks for one month.
This is a great story about a community that has plenty of struggles, but turns out in force for this event each year, last year beating Boston, Providence, Hartford, Concord, Augusta, Portland and every other city in New England.
I hope you can join us for this great event, or preview if you haven’t already done so. A news release with details on the event is linked below.
