The plan committed considerable investment for the increased deployment of heat pump technology, aiming to have 600 000 heat pumps installed every year by 2028. 2. February 4, 2021 – A Chance to Engage on Heat Pumps and NY’s Climate Future – 3:00-5:00 PM – The Energy Efficiency and Housing Advisory Panel of the Climate Action Council will be holding a public engagement session on Thursday, February 4th. This panel is charged with developing recommendations for the NY Climate Action Council to meet goals of a 40% reduction in greenhouse gases by 2030 while providing employment and a cleaner environment for New York’s disadvantaged communities. The recommendations of this panel, if enacted, are likely to have a major impact on the development of the heat pump market and the phase out of fossil fuels in NY State. All NY-GEO members and interested stakeholders are urged to take part. The meeting will include a presentation of preliminary recommendations and then an opportunity for the public to respond. Speakers will likely have a 2-minute limit.
