On Sunday, Vermont Rail System is running two longer, 90 minute excursion trains from White River Junction ($15 each) at 10am and 2pm.

Between September 19th and 29th, Vermont Rail System is running public foliage excursions out of Chester to Ludlow and Rockingham. Details are at www.rails-vt.com Trips depart Chester at 10:00am, 1:00 pm and 3:00pm. Trips run Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

On September 24th, there will be a public meeting at 7pm at the Hotel Coolidge in White River Junction in regards to the study of increased train service between Montreal and Boston/New York via Springfield. The study team will describe the study, what was learned and what is being proposed. This study started out examining “high-speed” service, but what is now contemplated is much more modest.

Saturday September 26th is the annual Rutland Railroad show at the Holiday Inn with model railroads and vendors, 10am – 3:30 pm.

The weekend of Saturday September 26th is also the convention of the Central Vermont Railway Historical Society in Brattleboro.

Since you have you’re calendar out, let me give advance notice of two shows:
The Amherst Railway Society’s big event at the Springfield MA “Big E” will be January 30 and 31, 2016. VRAN will have a table with the Vermont Rail System and join with VRS in offering the drivable train simulator.

The Northwestern Vermont Model Railroad Association “Vermont Rails” show on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Collins Perley Sports & Fitness Center in St. Albans, Vermont.

The Rutland Railway Historical Society will hold it’s annual convention in Chatham, NY, April 30th – May 1st, 2016.
