Electric Vehicle Forum & Demo Coming to the Upper Valley

The Upper Valley Electric Vehicle Forum and Demonstration will take place Thursday, May 15, at the Montshire Museum’s Porter Community Room, in Norwich, VT. Cars on display from three dealers and 16 owners include the Chevy Volt, Ford C-Max and Focus electric, Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Nissan Leaf, Prius Plug-in, Smart EV, and Tesla.

The dealers will have sample cars for trying out, and test rides have been offered by several of the owners. Test rides can include a trip to the King Arthur Flour public charging station for those who are interested in looking at the plug-in connection. There will also be electric bikes from Zoombike and the Solar Electric Cargo Bike available for test drives.

The forum begins with outdoor viewing and test rides from 5:30 to 7 pm, and then Dave Roberts of Drive Electric Vermont will give an indoor presentation and discussion about EVs in Vermont until 8 pm.

Displays cover public charging stations by Voltrek, and charging your EV with solar power by Energy Emporium. Ted Dillard of the Boston chapter of the Electric Auto Association will have a display from the Mount Washington ALT Energy Summit, with his racing electric Yamaha R5 motorcycle on view.

Stop by, listen to the latest EV news, talk to the owners, and take a test ride!

Cosponsored by the Upper Valley Sierra Club and Sustainable Energy Resource Group. For more information please contact either Karl Kemnitzer (kkemvt@gmail.com), or Bob Walker (bwalker@serg-info.org).
