Georgia Mountain Community Wind farm (GMCW) opened the turbine doors and greeted over 750 community members atop Georgia Mountain at an open house recently.
The Open House and Dedication Ceremony took place while the four 2.5MW Goldwind turbines generated power and guests enjoyed local Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Over 17 school bus loads of visitors road to the top of Georgia Mountain to see the wind turbines operating up close, share in a dedication ceremony and learn more about the project.
On a day when wind speeds averaged 16 miles per hour out of the southeast, and the sun shining, Milton, Georgia and surrounding community members visited the site, asked many questions, and snapped photos of themselves and the project.
