The Search for Convenient Resilience: Car Stolen

Greetings Supporters,

The Search has had quite a rollercoaster ride these past few days! On Thursday October 18, 2012 Princess Frywalker, The Search’s Vehicle, was stolen from a suburban home in Curtis Park, Sacramento, California. The car contained all of our equipment, from our computers and video equipment, to our camping gear and waste vegetable oil, as well as our wallets and other various personal items. The police were sent on the case, and all we could do was wait it out.

Not all was lost! On Friday, October 19th, a good samaritan called us with news of our Princess. She was parked on his street, having dispelled two unsavory characters. Sensing trouble afoot, he went online to our website and discovered that those unsavory characters were not, in fact, the two voyagers from Vermont. Ahh, Fernando, our savior! The world is good! Sacramento police were given the address, and we celebrated (albeit frugally).

Alas, the saga was not over. Fernando rang us again later in the evening, distraught. While he was out on errands, his brother witnessed the two perpetrators jump back into Frywalker and take off. He gave chase, but to no avail. They were gone.

So here we sit on Saturday, October 20th, 50 days into our journey. We are safe with friends, clothes on our backs, shoes on our feet, food in our stomachs. We do not know what the next few days and weeks will offer us in terms of travel, and we ask you, our supporters, to put us in your thoughts and hearts. If you see or hear anything, please contact us, and we will keep you all posted. Keep spreading the word of Convenient Resilience,

Best,

Dana, Hannah, & Princess Frywalker
