Members of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee will be voting tomorrow on the Bradley Amendment to reform, rather than repeal, NH’s participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). While the amendment is not perfect, it is far better than the House-passed bill that repeals New Hampshire’s participation in the program.
We need to secure 3 votes. Please contact Senators Bradley, Gallus and Lambert and urge them to vote for the Bradley Amendment.

– Support RGGI
– Support the Bradley Amendment
– Ignore special interest who favor repeal
Senators are under significant pressure to repeal RGGI, and that pressure will only intensify as the week progresses. Groups opposed to RGGI, including many from out-of-state, are vocal and have sway with some Senate members. Now is the time to act and get involved. The next week will determine the fate of RGGI in NH.
Local RGGI supporters are doing their part to show that businesses and the public are behind our participation: Running radio ads featuring NH business voices and running newspaper ads in the major NH daily newspapers with 140 businesses signed on. You can find this material www.conservationnh.org. Use this information to show Senators that businesses and the public supports RGGI.
Out-of-state special interests have been hitting airwaves and phone lines with a message to “pull the plug” on RGGI. What they don’t say is by pulling out, we still pay… but our money leaves New Hampshire to benefit other states, and leaves us behind on our sustainable energy path.
