NH EnergySmart Schools – Benchmarking/energy efficiency assistance for schools
The Sustainable Energy Division of the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission, in collaboration with the New Hampshire Department of Education (DOE), have sponsored TRC to develop the New Hampshire EnergySmart Schools Program to support New Hampshire K-12 public schools in the pursuit of energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. The deliverables of the program analysis are designed to help your school in three ways:
- Understand the energy consumption and cost trends at each of your buildings
- Know your school’s carbon footprint and energy performance compared to other schools, both locally and nationally
- Identify opportunities for improving operations and reducing annual energy and maintenance costs
Schools that have participated in TRC’s energy benchmarking programs in other states have shown a decrease in overall energy use of approximately 22%.
In order to participate in this innovative program, please fill out a one-page data request form and provide at least 12 months of utility bills. The data forms are available by visiting http://www.nhenergy.org/images/e/ec/NH_EnergySmart_Schools_Program-_Building_Data_Request_Form.pdf (2 pp, 370K). Please contact TRC for further information or assistance at 603-766-1913 or 1-877-282-9378 or NHSchoolsBenchmarking@trcsolutions.com. Participation is voluntary, confidential, & FREE!
