Vermont recently passed H.446! This is our first statewide Feed-in-Tariff (FiT), and it promotes the development of renewable energy!
The bill sets rates for small-scale solar, wind, hydro and methane energy production that encourage renewable projects and will eventually drive down their cost, as well as generate green business and jobs within the state!
The bill will make sure of accountability and acceptable costs, and has a low cap on the amount of renewable energy allowed.
It also makes possible a new local-option loan program for VT homeowners of all income levels, as well as additional funds for the VT Small Solar and Wind program that already exists.
